THE HELLENIC CHAIRMANSHIP IN OFFICE OF
THE SOUTH EAST EUROPEAN COOPERATION PROCESS (SEECP)
Ι. GOALS AND PRIORITIES
- further strengthening of regional cooperation and good neighbourly relations among the member states
- adjustment of the SEECP to the recent regional and European context.
The Greek CiO will pursue:
- promotion of regional cooperation, esp. in the fields of investment, transport - energy and telecommunications infrastructure, justice and home affairs, inter-parliamentary cooperation, as well as in foreign policy.
- institutional enhancement of the SEECP
- consolidation of the European perspective of the SEECP member states
ΙΙ. SCOPE OF ACTION
for the strengthening of regional cooperation in the above-mentioned fields the Greek Cio will host Meetings of
- Ministers for Foreign Affairs
- Ministers of Economy
- Ministers of Transport, Development and Energy
- Ministers of Justice and Interior
- an Inter-parliamentary Conference
for the institutional enhancement of the SEECP
the Greek CiO plans:
- an updating of the Bucharest Charter on Good Neighbourly Relations, Stability, Security and Cooperation in South Eastern Europe
- upgrading of the Political Directors Troika Meetings
- setting up of thematic task forces to assist the SEECP Chairmanship
- construction of an SEECP website
- coordination within the SEECP structure of a number of initiatives coming from NGOs, think tanks, business associations and cultural institutions of the region
for the consolidation of the SEECP member states' European perspective,
the Greek CiO proposes:
- A follow-up to the Thessaloniki Agenda for Western Balkans (2003)
- An upgraded role for the Informal Consultative Committee (ICC)

- The appointment of an SEECP liaison officer to the European Union
